Outdoor Photo Shoot!
I’ve been wanting to shoot a quilt in front of this mural for the longest time…
and the time was now! This is a T-shirt quilt for my grandkids “other grandpa”.
Perfect quilt for an “Outdoor” shoot…
He’s an avid fisherman, and these t-shirts are memories of the “Church Mouse Marlin Tournament” on Catalina Island.
I am beginning to think about introducing an “Outdoor Urban Quilt Photoshoot” workshop.
The wheels are turning…and I’m coming up with new ideas! Stay tuned!

Photography Workshops…
I started offering Photography workshops during 2020, and the feedback has been great.
The participants of my workshops have been doing some extraordinary work. Take a look!
In one of my workshop you choose one of your quilts: build a portfolio of full, closeup, vignette, back and label shots. Then we learn how to edit our images by adjusting
exposure, contrast, brightness, and cropping, all with your smartphone! When we are satisfied with the results, we put them in a collage and add a watermark.
It’s a busy workshop with rewarding results! No UFO at the end of this workshop…just practical information you can start using immediately.

Times…They are a changing..
Yes… things have really changed since March 19, 2020… when we started “shelter in place” in California. I’ve been doing Zoom presentations since June, and you know what?…. They have their benefits! I especially like the presenting from the comfort of my home… From the waist up I look “professional”, but truth be told…I have my bunny slippers on while explaining to guilds how to get the best photograph possible of their quilts! Seems like a “win/win” to me!
The other thing that has changed is my contract! I had to address the changes when doing a zoom program and incorporate that into my contract. You can download/print my contract to see if my presentation/workshop would work for your guild. Check it out!

Virtual Meetings With Zoom
We are in a new era that includes social distancing.
But social distancing doesn’t mean social isolation.
I love visiting different guilds and demonstrating how important photography is to quilting. We might not be able to meet in person, but it doesn’t mean we can’t meet virtually, as in a Zoom format.
My topics that I offer to guilds:
“Shoot Your Quilt” and ” How To Upgrade Your Quilt Toolbox” can be presented “In-Person” or in a “Virtual Format”. My presentation gives practical tips that that can be used by every quilter. The format is a power point presentation with a trunk show, followed by a question and answer period.
My workshop, “How To Edit Photographs With your Smartphone” also can be done as a virtual presentation. It is very interactive with practical information. No supply list or sewing machine needed!
